If you’re looking for yet another pickle recipe that blows your mind, you’ll want to try this: chocolate covered pickles. They aren’t as simple as they seem, either…

A couple of simple hacks make this sweet and salty snack so much more than a chocolate covered pickle. For one, you’re going to soak your pickles in sugar, balancing out the brine a bit more.

Your chocolate and flaky sea salt top it all off and make it a truly delicious snack. Here’s what you’re going to need to get started on making your own.

These are the ingredients you’ll need to make this sweet and salty pickle twist:

  • pickle chips (hand-sliced pickles work too)
  • granulated sugar
  • coconut oil
  • chocolate chips, melted
  • flaky sea salt
How It’s Made
Now that you’ve got your ingredients, you can make these pickles. Start by coating your pickles in the granulated sugar. Refrigerate the pickles for at least 10 minutes to let the sugar absorb.
From here, melt your chocolate chips with your coconut oil in a bowl. Dip your pickles in the chocolate halfway, then top with your flaky sea salt.
Let the chocolate harden, and then it’s ready to eat! It may seem a little unorthodox, but the briny pickles soaked in sugar mixed with the chocolate and flaky sea salt are the ultimate sweet and salty snack.
