Lately, I’ve been making and collecting as many adorable pincushions and I can. From a scrap bag and pin cushion in one, to a mannequin, to chickens, to a cactus and more, I can’t get enough.

As you can see, I’ve gotten a lot over the past few months, and this is the newest addition to my collection! These little petal pin cushions are super easy to make, and couldn’t be more adorable.

Basically, you start with two circles of fabric as big as you’d like the pincushion to be, then sew those circles together with the right sides of the fabric together, leaving an opening for stuffing.

Flip it right-side out, stuff the pincushion, then sew that section closed. You can use pinking sheers to trim the seam allowance if you’d like. It makes the flowers look more complete later on.

Using a needle and some thread, pull the thread around to make a the flower pattern, adding a button in the center to complete the design.

Once you tie all of that off, you’re done! It’s one of the most simple pin cushion designs I’ve ever tried, and it looks adorable in my sewing room.
