Sewing is my favorite pastime. Unfortunately, between the sewing machine, the fabric, and more, it can get expensive.

The dollar store is a practical solution to aid in your sewing adventures. Not only is it incredibly inexpensive, but the hacks are genius.

These dollar store hacks come from Just Get it Done Quilts on YouTube, and I guarantee you’re going to love them.

Shelf Liners

Cut a small piece of shelf liner and place it on the ground, then place your sewing machine pedal on top.

This keeps your foot pedal of your sewing machine in place no matter how long your project takes!

Table Cloths

Wash and dry your dollar store table cloths to remove all creasing. Then, hang it up on the wall, patterned side down.

Now you’ve got an easy design wall you can use and reuse as much as you want!

Masking Tape

Masking or painter’s tape is a must-have for any sewing or quilting fanatic. I’ve used it for years, and if you haven’t yet, you really need to start.

Makeup Brushes

Buying super cheap makeup brushes can actually benefit your sewing room. Use them to clean out your sewing machine!

Just Get it Done Quilts uses a blush brush for her cleaning, but you can use whatever you find works best.

Flexible Chopping Mats

Cutting templates for your blocks can often save a lot of time. Using a plastic cutting board from the dollar store is a great way to make them.
