The Tiny House Craze
Tiny houses are currently blowing up the internet. People all over the world are getting creative and finding ways to live stylishly in a super small space.
The tiny house is one of the easiest ways to save a ton of money while still having an entirely customized, separate home. It’s a bit more unique and eco-friendly than an apartment or a traditional house.
Recently, I stumbled upon a tiny house that really caught my eye. Instead of a tiny house built from regular materials, this one is made from an old grain silo!
You heard that right. A married couple transformed an old grain silo was into a tiny house. Christoph Kaiser and Shauna Thibault used what they do for a living to their advantage, building it themselves.
The couple work as an architect and a stylist, and they were able to convert a 366-square-foot grain silo into their first home in Phoenix, Arizona. Talk abut convenient.
Because of these oh-so-convenient set of skills the couple possessed, they were able to build the home of their dreams. Even people in mansions would be jealous!
“There were real constraints like can you get 2 people to live in here comfortably without really having rooms, per se,” Kaiser explained.
“That was a fun challenge to try to fashion everything you need, pretty much everything that a normal house has but in this very unconventional form and in this very small overall shape.”
The couple even has a beautiful deck outdoors to lay out on. Their home may be small, but they aren’t missing out on anything!
Needless to say, Kaiser and Thibault not only pulled it off, but they made something people all over the world would kill to have. What an accomplishment!
