Making a rug yourself is always time consuming, expensive, and difficult. It’s been hard for me to find a single rug tutorial that didn’t involve hours of sewing, knitting, or crocheting. It’s also been hard for me to find a DIY rug that’s durable. That is until I found this easy DIY rope rug!
To make this rug, you’ll need a ton of rope in your desired thickness, a drop sheet, glue, and some scissors.
First, lay down the drop sheet so it’s flat agains the ground. Then lay one end of the rope in the center of the drop sheet and start coiling the rope, gluing it down to the drop sheet as you go. Keep coiling the rope into a spiral and gluing it down until you reach the rug size you’d like. When that’s done, trim off the excess of the drop sheet and you’re done!
Not only is this by far the easiest rug I’ve ever made, but it goes with so many decor styles. Nautical, farmhouse, minimalist and more, this rug doe everything.
If you end up doing this project, show me your finished product in the comments, and share with your friends so they can see how to make it too!
