Summer is on its way, and that means it’s time to bring out the hot weather recipes. Nothing is more refreshing than lemonade or a slice of watermelon on a hot summer day. So mixing the two together is by far the best summer treat you can have!

If you’ve never had watermelon lemonade, you’re really missing out. Making it is super simple, so if you haven’t tried it, now’s the time.

The best recipe I’ve found is through Divas Can Cook. I could drink a pitcher of this in one sitting, easy.

Here’s what you’ll need to make the perfect watermelon lemonade:

  • 4-6 cups water (flat or sparkling)
  • 4-5 lemons (enough for 1 cup of lemon juice)
  • 1/2 watermelon (enough for 4-5 cups watermelon juice)
  • 1-1 1/2 cups sugar
  • Mint

Start by cubing your watermelon and slicing your lemons in half. Juice 1 cup of lemon juice. Blend your watermelon and strain the juice. Add in your water and desired amount of sugar and mix.

She recommends garnishing with fresh mint, but I prefer muddling some mint and throwing it directly into the mix. It adds a nice little zing to the lemonade that I love. Once that’s all done, pour your lemonade over ice and you’re all set!

I can’t believe summer is already on its way. I’m going to be making a ton of this because here in San Diego, it gets insanely hot. Let me know how your lemonade turns out, and be sure to share this with your friends so they can beat the heat!
