These hot pads are by far the most unique sewing project I’ve come across recently. It’s a lot easier than I thought it would be to make and they look really cool sitting on my kitchen counter.

Even better? They’re super useful! They’re great for putting my pots and pans on, removing things from the oven, and more!

It doesn’t take a lot to make these. All you need to do is make some points and put them together.

Here’s what you’ll need to get this project done

Out of this, you’ll need to cut five 3″ squares, eight 3.5″ squares, eight 4″ squares, and eight 4.5″ squares. All of these squares should be different fabrics.

You’re going to turn all of these into points. All you need to do is take the square fabric and fold each diagonally, wrong sides together. Then take 2 parallel corners and fold those up to their shared edge.

You’ll do this for all of your squares, then arrange them facing each other. With all of the squares you made, this will eventually make a star shape.

Cut away excess fabric to make a circle, add some batting, your backing fabric, and sew some of the backing fabric around it to make the hot pad.
