I loved Bayoona’s tutorial on how to make white sauce chicken and pasta bake via YouTube because it was peaceful and bliss. Some of my favorite kinds of tutorials are the ones where you can hear natural sounds from cooking with no voiceover or music. She made me want to subscribe to her channel because it was very easy to follow along with her video since there are subtitles every step of the way. I’m not a big white sauce pasta girl, but this looked very creamy and colorful. In other instances, I could switch this to the red sauce if needed. The ingredients are also very simple so I can easily make this for dinner if I have a big group over. This will be in my recipe box for future use.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • drizzle olive oil
  • 500g pasta
  • cheddar cheese + mozzarella¬†
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp¬† paprika
  • 1 tsp¬† all-purpose seasonings
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp parsley
  • salt + pepper (to taste)

Bechamel Sauce:

  • 1-liter milk
  • 100g flour
  • 100g butter
  • salt, pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions:

First, saute 1 large onion until tender. Then, add the cloves of minced garlic and cook the chicken until it turns white for about 2 minutes. Throw in the rest of the ingredients and season thoroughly.

Next, continue to watch Bayoona’s tutorial on Youtube to finish boiling the pasta and making the creamy bechamel sauce. Once everything is cooked and ready, start layering up in the pasta in a large baking dish.

Overall, everything looked so fresh in this recipe. I could eat the pasta without having to add the extra white sauce too. I enjoy pasta bakes for the layer of cheesiness and this would be a great dish to make for leftovers in the week.
