I love pound cakes, but vanilla buttery ones are the best. There’s something about the buttery, and sweetness of the vanilla that makes me go for 3 slices. This bakery-style pound cake tutorial by Yummy on YouTube is a short tutorial that doesn’t take forever to watch. This would be amazing with a cup of coffee in the morning or with a side of vanilla ice cream as a dessert. I love how soft and bouncy the pound cake appears in the video. The vanilla pound cake looks golden and moist. If you’re a beginner at baking, this would be a great recipe to try out because it does not require many steps.
Ingredients:
- 100g softened butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 eggs (substitute 1/2 cup curd or condensed milk)
- 1/2 cup flour (Maida)
- 1 tbsp milk powder
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- NOTE: (if you are using condensed milk then add 1/4 cup sugar. add some milk if your eggless cake batter get thick)
Directions:
First, in a medium bowl, mix softened butter, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until it turns fluffy. Add the two eggs (one at a time), but if you would like to substitute, use 1/2 cup curd or condensed milk.
Second, once the pound cake batter is finished, transfer to a 6-inch greased mold pan. Draw a long vertical line on top of the pound cake baking so it looks super natural. Bake in a preheated oven on 356F for 35-45 minutes.
Overall, this is a simple recipe that is inexpensive to make. I’ve been purchasing pound cakes at the store, but it’s been a while since I’ve had them. Also, I have been doing a lot of baking, so this would be a great recipe to try out.
