Old chairs can be repurposed beyond just a new coat of paint. In fact, they don’t need to be chairs at all.

They’ve been turned into benches, porch swings, pet beds and more, so why not take one of your old chairs to the garden and build a planter?

That’s right, by simply taking out the seat of the chair and screwing on plywood underneath, you’ve got a perfect container for soil and succulents!

Caitlin with DIY with Caitlin does this, then takes it a step further by painting her chair a bright blue to make the planter pop.

You can find a wooden chair for super cheap at thrift stores, or if you’re lucky like she was, look in an alley to find your chair!

When planting your succulents, use a soil made for their specific plant type, and decorate with rocks, crystals, signs, or whatever else you can come up with!

This easy DIY looks so cool in any garden space. There’s something so magical and charming about things being repurposed for the yard.

If you’ve been looking for a new planter, give this one a try and be sure to share this with your friends! They’ll definitely be asking how you did it.
