Jenny from Missouri Star Quilt Co. does it once again by turning some basic strips into something totally unique. I had never thought of arranging strips to make a butterfly, but it’s actually gorgeous and pretty easy to pull off!
Here are the supplies you’ll need to accomplish this quilt.
Start by sewing together your strips horizontally in sets of 3. Then, you’ll cut these into blocks that are just as wide as they are tall, making a square.
You’ll need 2.5″ and 1.5″ strips of your background for the rest of your block. You’ll use your background fabric to cover two opposite corners on each block. Pay attention to Jenny’s tips to get the butterfly to be perfect!
Once you add your sashing to make the butterfly, the borders, batting, and backing, you’ll have an incredible quilt that looks like a ton of little butterflies.
Follow the video tutorial below to learn more about how to get this adorable quilt. I’ve always been obsessed with butterflies, so I love how mine turned out!
