The blocks of this quilt looked so complicated that I didn’t think I could do it. Then I watched how it was done and I was in shock as to how easy it is to make!
Once again, Jenny Doan with Missouri Star Quilt Company makes things super easy. Take jelly roll strips and sew them all together in sets of 4, horizontal sides together.
However tall the strips end up being together, cut that in the width as well so they form squares. Do this with multiple strip sets.
Then, lay one of those blocks right side up with the strips going horizontally. Take another block and lay it right side down on top of the other block, with the strips going vertically.
Sew these together on all 4 sides.
From here, all you need to do is cut diagonally from all 4 corners, press them open, and you have 4 unique blocks!
The result looks so complicated but I honestly don’t think I’ve made a block easier than this one. You get 4 so quickly!
I made this an entire quilt in just a couple of hours. Just add a backing, some batting and a border or 2, and it’s done in no time.
I’m giving mine as a baby shower gift. What are you going to do with yours?
