Summer time is the perfect time for camping. Some people like to camp in tents, while others prefer the “glamping” option of a trailer camper.

To celebrate the camper, Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company created a quilt inspired by those little campers. It’s absolutely adorable.

The best thing about these little camper blocks is the fact that you can really get creative with how you want the campers to look. Any colors, patterns, shapes… it’s all up to you!

Jenny has a basic template for the camper to get started, but if you wanted to add details like window shades or hanging flags, you totally could. Let’s go over the shapes.

As per usual with a Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorial, there are a ton of free resources that make the entire process a whole lot easier. This includes a free PDF for the supplies (click here to see that one), and another free PDF that made me super excited.

This second free PDF allows you to trace and cut out the exact shapes you need to make the campers. Print out some of these, and your cuts will be a breeze. Get that PDF by clicking here.

Use those shapes on the PDF to cut out pieces of fabric for your camper. Trace them on to some Heat n Bond, roughly cut them out, then iron on your fabric and trim to the perfect shape.

Seriously, it really is that easy to get the parts all ready. Then, iron on your “parts” to the trailer, and iron your trailer to the background fabric. Seriously, that’s it. It’s really that easy!

Add your sashing, border(s), batting, backing, and anything else you may want, and your quilt is all done!
