Maybe you’re trying to watch your carb intake, or maybe you went completely keto. Maybe you just want to try something different. No matter the case, you need to try this grilled cheese twist.

Cauliflower bread! That’s right, all of the flavor of a classic grilled cheese, made better with a low-carb DIY bread. Wanna make it yourself?

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to get started:

  • shredded cauliflower
  • 1 egg
  • 4 oz mozzarella
  • butter
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese

How To Make It:

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Start by shredding your cauliflower and steaming it. Gather the cauliflower in a cloth and wring out all of the excess moisture. Put the cauliflower in a bowl.

Add your egg and mozzarella to the bowl, then mix together thoroughly. Shape this mixture into “bread” slices on the parchment paper. Pop it in the oven for 25 minutes.

Once it’s out of the oven, let it cool enough for you to handle. In a frying pan, melt some butter. Lay down one slice of your bread, then your cheddar cheese, followed by the other slice of bread.

Put a lid on the frying pan and cook on low until the bread on the bottom browns and crisps. Flip the sandwich and repeat the same process until it’s fully cooked through.

Now it’s ready to serve. Serve alongside some tomato soup and have a low-carb deliciously cheesy meal.

Enjoy!
