Jenny Doan with Missouri Star Quilt Company shares this adorable piece in one of her tutorials. Not only is it incredibly simple to do, but it’s so much fun, too!

Here’s what you’re gonna need to get this done:

As Jenny says, this is going to change the way you look at a 2.5″ strip. I couldn’t believe that’s what was used to create these gorgeous stars!

Fold the strip in half and trim off the selvage, then cut that strip into four 4″ strips and four 6″ strips. With the leftover piece from the strip, cut it into a 2.5″ square.

From the background fabric, cut four 4″ squares as well as eight 2.5″ squares.

As for assembly, you’d be surprised to find out that all that’s involved are the techniques for sewing together strips and half square triangles. Work in 4 sections, then sew them into one block!

Watch Jenny complete the quilt block in the tutorial below. I promise it’s beyond easy, and with the right colors, it’s the perfect autumn quilt!
