If you can relate, then this super simple squares quilt is exactly what you’re looking for. All it is is a group of solid squares surrounded with sashing and cornerstones. Seriously, that’s it!

Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company teaches us how this is done in her video tutorial, and like all of her video tutorials, it’s so easy to do. Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

How It’s Made

I don’t think this quilt could be any easier if it tried. The block is simply a square, and if you buy the packs of squares, all of the cuts are already done for you.

All you’ve gotta do from here is add in your sashing and cornerstones. You can make the sashing and cornerstones first, throwing that in between the squares as you go.

Once all of that is completed, all you need to do is add your borders to the blocks, and your quilt top is finished. Add batting and some backing fabric, along with any free motion, and the quilt is finished!

To spice this quilt up a bit, you could use a variety of printed squares, or even panels to give the quilt a ton of character. Since the blocks are so simplistic, you have a ton of options on making this your own!

Watch Jenny’s tutorial for more instruction on how to do this, and then you can make your own quilt. Good luck and have fun!
