Bubble bars are a super cute product I discovered at LUSH a long time ago. You could run these solid bubble baths under running water and have a relaxing bath in no time.

The best part about these is you can make them in bulk and save them for gifts: any season, any reason, and any theme! You can really customize these for anything and they’re super fun to use.

Wanna learn how to make them? Here’s how.

You will need:

  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cream of tartar
  • 1 cup sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA)
  • 1/2 cup liquid glycerin
  • 1/8 cup carrier oil (castor, coconut, olive, etc.)
  • 20 drops fragrance or essential oil
  • Soap or Food Colorant
  • Molds or Cookie Cutters

First, mix together all of your dry ingredients: corn starch, baking soda, cream of tartar, and SLSA. Add in your wet ingredients: glycerin, carrier oil, and fragrance oil. Mix thoroughly until it forms a dough.

Separate the dough if you plan on dying it different colors, otherwise add in your soap/food colorant. Mix until combined.

Add to your mold to dry, or flatten it into 1/2″-1″ disc, and use cookie cutters to get your shape. Leave out for a while to dry completely, then they’re ready to use!

These solid bubble baths are super simple to use. Just break off a chunk and rub it under running water. Watch the bubbles form and enjoy your bath!
