I see them everywhere: adorable jewelry dishes made from clay and decorated in all sorts of different ways. They’re in a ton of super popular stores: Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and more.

Unfortunately, these can end up being super expensive if you don’t play your cards right. Instead of spending a ton of money, why not just make your own instead?

Not only will you save money and store your jewelry in style, but you can actually make a ton of these to use as gifts, or even to sell! They’re super trendy right now. Who wouldn’t want one?

For any of these clay dishes, you need to start by placing parchment paper on top of air dry clay and rolling it out until it’s flat enough to be shaped into a jewelry dish.

You want this to be about 1/4″ thick at least. Using an X-Acto Knife, cut out your dish into whatever shape you’d like. Cristina goes into more detail in her video below.

Place the cut out shape into a bowl to dry. This will give it the curved shape. When in dries, use some sandpaper to fix up any rough edges, then paint your dish however you see fit.

Once that dries, you can seal it off with mod podge, resin, or whatever clear varnish you have handy. Then that’s it, you’re done!
