There’s nothing quite like a buttermilk biscuit. When done right, they’re fluffy, flaky, buttery, and moist. When done wrong, they’re dry, brittle, and not all that flavorful.
That means you need to get them right, especially during the holidays. Nobody wants to bite into a piece of cardboard disguised as a biscuit.
Instead, you want to create the perfect biscuit that everyone will want to have on their plates. This is that biscuit.
Monique from Divas Can Cook shared this recipe on her YouTube channel. They’re from her grandma Barb, and I’ve gotta say, they definitely give my grandma’s biscuits a run for her money.
Wanna make them yourself? Here’s how. You will need:
- 2 cups all purpose flour, plus more for your work surface (she uses White Lily Flour)
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tbsp. granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp. unsalted butter, cold
- 1 cup buttermilk, cold

To make your biscuits, make sure your ingredients are cold. This is the most important thing to making flakey, tender biscuits.
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. In a large bowl, sift together your dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar.
