Snowglobes: they’re one of the most iconic images of the winter season. Whether it makes you think of a specific place, the holidays, or even a person, a snowglobe has a place in everyone’s memory.
Now, it’s going to be a part of everyone’s quilt collection, too! This snowglobe quilt by Fabricdotcom is easy to make, and really captures the beauty of a snowglobe.
Want to make it yourself? That’s easy! Here’s how.
What you’re gonna need:
- fat quarters of cotton fabric
- rotary cutter
- marking tool
- scissors
- pins
- needle and thread / sewing machine
Putting this together is super simple. The globe itself is made out of a snowball block, and the stand is made similarly– just one side instead of the whole block.
Create each globe as a block, stitching them together, and adding a border, some batting and a backing panel of fabric makes this the perfect winter time quilt.
If you want to decorate for Christmas, lay this across the top of your couch and people will recognize it instantly. You can easily find fabrics that make it even more festive, too!
Watch Fabricdotcom stitch up these blocks in the video below, then you can get to celebrating the season by sewing. Good luck!
