The holidays are coming: first it’s Halloween, then it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Do you know what that means? It’s through-the-roof heating bill season, everyone!

Okay, yeah, I’m being sarcastic. Obviously nobody wants to deal with a skyrocketed heating bill when it gets cold, but what else are you supposed to do to stay warm?

I mean, you could just endure the cold, bundled under blankets and thick coats, shivering and reminiscing about a summer once experience.

Or you can make your own heater! It may seem far fetched, but all you’ll need to get started are a 6-inch terracotta flower pot and base, a 5-inch terracotta pot, a chain link, some nuts and a few candles.

The best part? It only costs 4 cents an hour to run!

Easy enough, right? Now it’s time for assembly. There’s a little bit of work involved, but YouTube channel Live Smarter has an easy-to-follow video on how to do it.

Once you build this easy heater, you won’t even think about your heating bill. Now you’ve got a free back up plan! Sometimes things just work out exactly how you need them to.

Now that you know you want to build your own heater, watch the Live Smarter video below and get started. You definitely won’t regret it.
