For The Mug Lovers

Nothing is more refreshing in the morning than a nice warm cup of tea or coffee. Regardless if you’re a tea person or a coffee person, there’s one thing we can all agree on: both are best served in mugs.

I’ve collected all sorts of mugs over the years, and needless to say, they’ve taken up plenty of room in my cupboards. I’d say my cupboards are 50% mugs.

I’ve always needed more room, but I love my mugs, so I don’t want them out of the kitchen. If anything, I want them on display. Most of them are super cute!

So how do you clean out your cupboards while still having your mugs easily available? A mug rack! There are plenty available in stores and online, but you can make one that’s way cuter… and it’s practically free!

What It’s Made Of

How, you ask? Well, this mug rack is made from pallet wood. Most of the time, you can get ahold of pallets at any sort of store with large shipments– they’ll be trying to get rid of them, so they should be free.

I found a tutorial on The DIY Cottage’s YouTube channel. She uses wood from the hardware store and a stain, but as you can see by the finished product, pallet wood would work just as well.’

As long as the wood slats are equally spaced, even sizes, and sturdy, you really can make this rack from anything. I also love the little chalkboard detail at the top of this rack. How cute!

Add some equally-spaced hooks to the wood frame, hang it on the wall, and it’s ready to use! No more will your mugs be stuffed in your cupboards.

The best part about this adorable rack is its farmhouse style. It fits right in with my decor, and gives any kitchen or dining area a rustic edge. What could be better than that?
