River Log Cabin Quilt
Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company always has my back when it comes to unique and beautiful quilt designs. Recently, I found her tutorial for a river log cabin quilt, and I fell in love.
Not only is it super easy to make, but it’s completely unique too. There’s nothing not to love about this beauty, and Jenny shows us how to make it.
Wanna make your own? Let’s get started by grabbing your supplies.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this gorgeous quilt:
Now that you’ve got the supplies all together, it’s time to build the quilt. Each block is made up of 6 different fabrics: your background fabric and 5 different colors.
How It’s Done
All you’ll be cutting is thin strips of background fabric to form the majority of the top left had corner of the block. Once that’s complete, you can finish the rest of the block.
The bottom of the block will simply be a colorful strip of your fabric of choice. Now to fill in the rest of the block. With your other 4 fabrics, cut strips and squares like Jenny shows.
Then, sew those together to fill in the rest of the block. Now you’ve got a full square and your block is done. Continue to build these and then you can finish your quilt top by arranging the blocks.
By facing all of the colored fabrics together, you create a jagged circle sort of design, and the end result is simply stunning. Watch Jenny stitch hers below to see what I mean!
Good luck and happy quilting!
