So how do we transition from summer to fall in the best way possible? Combine fair food with fall food: deep fried pie. I know, you’re drooling already.

Believe it or not, it’s actually pretty easy to make. Tasty shows how it’s done in a video tutorial. So let’s get started on making our own deep fried pecan pie!

First thing’s first: for this to be the best fried pecan pie experience you can possibly have, you’ve gotta start by making the best pecan pie recipe you know.

This one by Food Wishes is one of my personal favorites, but if you have an old family recipe that you love, by all means, use it!

Now that you’ve baked your pie, let it cool off completely, then slice it up. Insert popsicle sticks into the crust of the pie, and freeze the slices overnight.

The next day, dip these slices into pancake batter and deep fry them in 350 degree F oil until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and let it drain on a paper towel.

Top your delicious fried pecan pie with some powdered sugar, and they’re all ready to eat. If you want to, you can top these with things like caramel sauce or whipped cream as well.

Check out Tasty‘s video below for more on how this is done, as well as their pecan pie recipes. Try this technique with all sorts of pies. You’re guaranteed to love it!

Enjoy!
