Oh, the holidays, my favorite time of year. I don’t know about you, but I personally LOVE giving gifts to people and seeing their faces when they open it.
That’s why this presents quilt quickly became my favorite holiday pattern. Not only is it an adorable way to help decorate your house for the holidays, but it reminds you what the season is all about: giving!
Jenny from Missouri Star Quilt Company is at it again with this tutorial. It’s such an easy quilt to do, and I just love how mine turned out. Here’s what you’re gonna need:
You wouldn’t believe how simple it is to make this quilt. If you have a charm pack of 5″ squares. Just add some little strips like Jenny describes in the video, and your gift box is done.
Now it’s time to add your sashing and your bow! The sashing around the box is simply your sashing strips. Sew those on like Jenny describes, leaving the top open.
That top part is where the bow is going to go. Cut a little square into two equal triangles, and then sew that on to a bigger half triangle to create the bow.
Then that’s it, your block is done! Just add your batting, backing, and any border you’d like, and you’re done!
Watch Jenny create this gorgeous quilt below, then give it a try yourself.
Happy Holidays!
