Fall is practically here already, meaning it’s time we decorate the house to celebrate. Pumpkins are a go-to, but they’ve been done so many times, that maybe it’s time to do it a little differently.
Try these concrete pumpkin holders on for size. They come from a video tutorial by Lily Ardor on YouTube, and I love how they turned out.
They’re super simple to make and I guarantee you’ll love them just as much as I do. Let’s get started.
To make this, you will need:
- concrete mix (and any other materials needed to make that mix, like water)
- tights/pantyhose
- tea light candles
- plastic wrap
- painter’s or masking tape
- rubber bands
- scissors
- flathead screwdriver
First, mix together your concrete mix until it forms a thick paste. Then, fill it into your pantyhose, making sure to work over a surface you don’t mind getting dirty.
Wrap your tea light in plastic wrap, then tape it off with your painter’s/masking tape. Then place it in the center of the concrete, but don’t press it.
Now wrap on some rubber bands gently to form the pumpkin shape. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes, just enough to let it solidify about 80%.
Then remove your pantyhose with your scissors and use the screwdriver to gently remove the candle. Let it dry the rest of the way, then paint if you’d like, and place in your candle.
Light it up and you’re all done. Perfect for fall, super cute and festive! Check out the video by Lily Ardor below for more on how this is done. Then you can try it yourself. Good luck!
