Pocket Of Fleece

There’s nothing worse than putting on a blanket, only to be too tall for it and not having it cover your feet. As someone that stands at 5 foot 10 inches, it happens to me far too often.

Luckily Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company has a son that faced the same problem. Because of that, she came up with a solution!

This fleece quilt has a pocket so your feet can comfortably fit inside and always stay in place. Not only that, but since you make this blanket yourself, you can make it as long as you need!

Even better, you don’t even need a lot of fabric or some crazy pattern to get this done. You just need a couple of pieces of fabric that will fit the length you want with a 60″ width. That’s it!

How To Make It

First, place the right sides of the two pieces of fabric together and sew all the way around, leaving a small section open to flip it right side out.

Next, you’re going to sew to close the opening like Jenny describes. From here, you’re going to make your foot pocket. Fold it over to create the pocket, then sew it like Jenny does.

Then that’s it, you’re done! If you want to add any free motion stitching or something like that, then you can do so. Other than that, enjoy your new blanket!
