Paula Deen cooks up a cheeseburger casserole that is easy and quick to make if you want a fast dinner at home. Her cheeseburger casserole tutorial on YouTube goes straight into cooking and the video isn’t long. Pasta is one of my favorite meals to cook because it’s a type of food that I can serve fast. Usually, there’s a lot of throwing things in the pot and stirring style with pasta and letting it simmer in time. Especially with casseroles, they taste better when you let all of the flavors sit and bake in the oven.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • 1 (28 oz) can with juice chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 oz wide egg noodles
  • 2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:

First, preheat the oven to 350F. Then, in a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat and stir to break up the lumps. Throw in the onions and peppers to cook everything all together. Cook the vegetables until tender. Add the tomatoes and the rest of the seasonings. Make sure to get your noodles ready and boiled to mix with the tomato meat mixture.

Next, once everything is blended, assemble the cheeseburger casserole. Spray your baking dish with cooking spray and transfer the noodle mixture in the cooking dish. Top it off with cheese and bake for 15 minutes.

Overall, this cheeseburger casserole is a great recipe to follow if you’re looking for a quick family dinner that will leave you with leftovers. One thing I would do differently for this recipe is adding layers of cheese in between in the casserole. I love super cheesy pasta for every bite. Plus, this is perfect if you want to teach your kids how to cook a nice casserole from a simple recipe.
