It may sound insane, but your favorite soda could be the ingredient your grilled chicken recipe is missing. A simple marinade that tenderizes and flavors the chicken makes all the difference, and one incredibly popular soda does all of that and more.
Growing up, we all loved soda. Whether you were a Dr. Pepper fanatic or a Coca Cola purist, there was definitely a soda you couldn’t get enough of as a kid. For me, there was one soda that always came out on top…
Here at DIYWays my addiction to Mountain Dew has made its way to a ton of our articles. We’ve made Mountain Dew Brownies. We’ve made Mountain Dew Ice Cream. We’ve even made Mountain Dew Pickles.
Now, Mountain Dew has made its way to the grill. I found a recipe for a chicken marinade with Mountain Dew, and it’s incredible. Wanna give it a shot yourself? Here’s what you’ll need:
- boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Mountain Dew
- Italian dressing
- soy sauce
- garlic powder

Now on to making this deliciousness, which is way easier than it may seem. Begin by placing your chicken breasts in a gallon-sized resealable bag. Now, add the marinade to the bag.
Pour in your Mountain Dew, your Italian Dressing, the soy sauce, and the garlic powder. Then, mix it around and make sure the chicken is fully coated with all of the marinade.
Seal your bag and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, but overnight would be best. The Mountain Dew adds a sweet citrusy element to the chicken, plus it helps tenderize it in the fridge.
Remove from the bag and grill your chicken how you normally would. Then that’s it, you’re ready to eat! Once again, be sure to check out the full written recipe by clicking here before you venture out and cook this. Click here to see that.
