The Perfect Gift
Father’s Day is almost here. I don’t know about you, but my dad is my best friend, and I want to make sure he gets the best gift he possibly can. For me, that usually means I’m going to make something.
I think I have found the perfect DIY. Not only do I get to make my dad the perfect gift, but I get to recycle something I use a lot of… wine corks!
That’s right. If you’re a wine drinker, then you can use those wine corks to make a Father’s Day gift… a dart board! Buy a cheap dartboard at any store you’d like, grab your corks, and let’s get started.
So what exactly will you need? Gather the following things:
- a ton of wine corks
- cork sheets
- dart board with darts(and any score boards you may want to attach as well)
- wood frame to hold everything
- wood glue
- velcro (technically optional, but helpful)
First thing’s first: lay down your cork sheets in the wooden frame and secure them in place.
Next, place your dart board wherever you’d like in your wooden frame and mark it so you don’t fill that area with the corks. The same thing goes for any scoreboards.
Figure out how you’d like to lay out the corks next. There are all sorts of different patterns. It could be circular around the board(s), rectangular, or something else entirely.
Then, use your wood glue and/or your velcro to secure the corks and the board(s) in place. Add some corks on the bottom to hold your darts, and you’re done and ready to give it away!
