One of the best sewing projects I’ve come across recently is this lotus drawstring bag. Not only is it completely adorable, but they’re super easy to make. All you need is 2 fat quarters and some cord!

The steps for achieving this bag couldn’t be any easier. Sew two squares right sides together, leaving one area open to flip it right side out and sewing that area closed.

You’ll cut a few small strips for the cording as well, sewing those right sides together to hold the cord in place. Flip those right side out, then you’ll assemble the bag.

Fold the corners of the large square inward and sew those in place about 1/2″ away from the fold to make room for the cord. String the cord through, then use the small strips you sewed earlier as cord ends. Once you sew those on, pull it closed, and you’re done!

Although I’ve always loved plain rectangular bags, this has got to be the most interesting drawstring bag I’ve ever seen and I adore the one I made for myself.
