After long day of work or school, there’s nothing better than taking off all your jewelry and getting in your comfy clothes. I like to set my jewelry in a handy little dish so it’s ready for the next day.
There’s this little shop by my house that sells faux-marble jewelry dishes. They’re super cute, but I couldn’t help but think I could easily make one myself instead.
And I was right!
Making a little jewelry dish is actually ridiculously easy. You don’t need to be an expert artist to make one of these have a really cool marble effect.
Here’s what you need:
Just take multiple colors of clay and roll them into little snakes, then arrange them in an alternating pattern. Twist them together, then gently roll it into a ball. Roll it out flat and cut off any ragged edges.\
Place the clay in an oven safe bowl to form a shallow dish shape, then bake the clay according to package directions.
Allow it to cool completely, then pop the dish out of the bowl. Paint the edges (and the bottom if you’d like) of the dish with gold paint, and once that dries, you’re done!
I’ve made a few of these as gifts now, and everyone loves them. Plus, they’re so simple!
What colors are you going to make yours?
