I’m pretty much addicted to bath bombs. I buy them all the time, use them whenever I possibly can, and love watching them fizz in the tub.
Sometimes they’re a little expensive, or they just don’t have the vibe I’m looking for. I love anything galaxy and couldn’t find a cheap galaxy bath bomb, so I decided to look for a DIY.
That’s when I found this YouTube tutorial by EvelinKardosArts. It’s perfect!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup epsom salts
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 3 tbsp oil of choice (I used melted coconut oil)
- Multiple food or soap dyes in bright colors
- Soap glitter, eyeshadow pigment, or any other kind of glitter that is safe to drain.
- Bath bomb mold
Mix the baking soda, epsom salts, corn starch, and citric acid together. Add your oil and mix together until it feels like wet sand.
Separate the mixture into different bowls. In each bowl, add a few drops of food coloring at a time and mix it in until it’s uniform. Make multiple colors and add various glitters to each.
Pack your bath bomb mold by layering the multiple colors, swirling it around to make it look like a galaxy. You can also add pockets of glitter or other things if you’d like.
I added some essential oils to make the bath bomb have an awesome scent.
Wait for the bath bomb to dry for 5 hours, or stick it in the freezer for 1 hour, unmold it, and it’s ready to use!
I love watching this bath bomb fizz with all the glitter and colors. My bath ended up being the coolest blue-purple color.
If you decide to give this a shot, what colors are you going to use?
