Fall and winter are arguably the most festive seasons. Everyone I know decorates for these times of year, and that means themed DIYs are in full swing.

If you’re in need of decor for the season, then it’s time to make your first one of the fall: this little leaf-shaped trinket dish. It’s super cute, and it’s beyond easy to make!

This DIY comes from Dainty Diaries on YouTube and it’s as easy as 1-2-3. To get started making your own version of this adorable DIY, here’s what you’ll need:

  • a leaf/leaves of your choice
  • air-dry clay
  • plastic wrap
  • rolling pin
  • knife
  • cup/bowl slightly smaller than the leaf
  • paint of choice (metallic spray paint looks amazing with this, just FYI)

Now on to making this bad boy. It’s just as easy as it sounds. First, begin by rolling out a piece of air dry clay. You may want to cover the rolling pin with plastic wrap to prevent sticking.

Time to press in the leaf shape. Grab your leaf (make sure it’s not a crunchy leaf– that won’t work), and place it rough side down on to the clay. Use your rolling pin to press it in.

Use your knife to trim the clay around the leaf, then remove the leaf from the clay. Place plastic wrap inside of a bowl or cup, then place the smooth side of the clay down into it.

Let your clay dry completely. Now, all you have to do is paint it and you’re ready to use it. Perfect for fall and done in a flash!
