Halloween and Christmas are the two times per year that you can completely deck out your front lawn with the craziest decorations you can find… or make.

This scarecrow pumpkin is one of the most over-the-top decorations I’ve seen, and it’s a cheap and easy way to add some spook to your front yard.

Hallmark Channel came up with this awesome idea. I love how it turned out, and I’m sure you will too!

What you’ll need to make this is:

  • PVC pipe
  • Large stakes
  • Burlap
  • Branches
  • Rope
  • LED lanterns
  • Pumpkin head (plastic)
  • Zip ties
  • Any accessories of your choice (corn stalks, hat, etc.)

First, you’ll put together your PVC pipes to create a body-like frame. She screws them together instead of gluing them for easy storage after the season is over. Then, add your branches. Zip tie them in place.

Add your burlap on like a cloak or dress, and add branches or other decorations on the bottom. Add burlap to the arms and zip tie everything in place.

Place the pumpkin head on top, add any decorations, and you’re done!
