Holy Cow! Fire and Ice, makes me want to write a Country Song! When I saw these ice lanterns glowing with the gentle flame of a candle I fell in love. I had always loved ice sculptures since I was a child and went on a Cruise Ship To Jamaica, so when I found this Youtube Video, I realized I could make something similar, maybe even cooler, pardon the pun, lol 🙂 It’s really fun to make these on a Wintery snow day and really use the cold to your advantage. I started this project by filling a yogurt container with water then placing a tin can inside with some small rocks to hold it down.
Then I put corks around the inside lip of the yogurt container to hold the can in place and let it freeze. You can leave it outside if it’s cold enough or you can also do these DIY Ice Lanterns in the kitchen freezer. You can take it out for a few minutes or run a tiny bit of water over it, to loosen your gorgeous ice sculpted lantern, to release it from its container.
These DIY Ice Sculpture Candle Holder Lanterns turned out so awesome, better than I could ever imagine. They really remind me of the very first ice sculptures I ever laid eyes on during our Cruise to Port Antonio and Montego Bay Jamaica. I realize it’s not a 5-foot gigantic swan, but it’s my beautiful creation and I love it and it makes me so happy.
