Kool-Aid Pie
love pie. I could eat it after every meal. Even though my body would probably hate me for eating pie every day, my tastebuds would definitely love me.
Because of my love for pie, I feel like I’ve tried every flavor there is. As time went on, I realized there weren’t a lot of pies I hadn’t tried… then I found this.
I had no idea, but Kool-Aid pie is a thing, and it’s delicious. You get all the creaminess of a banana or coconut cream pie with the uniquely delicious flavor of your favorite type of Kool-Aid!
Unsurprisingly, James Lamprey from FunFoods is back with the recipe for this delicious twist on pie. It’s super simple to make and doesn’t require a ton of ingredients!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 8-9 graham crackers
- 6 tbsp. melted butter
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
- 1 packet Kool-Aid (.13 oz), flavor of choice
- 8 oz. Cool Whip (or whipped cream if you’d like)
How It’s Done
Begin by taking your graham crackers and dumping them into a plastic bag. Seal the bag then crush thoroughly until they’re crumbs. Add your 6 tbsp. of melted butter and mix thoroughly.
Press this mixture into the bottom of a pie pan, then pop it in the fridge for a few hours until the butter sets up again. In the meantime, you can make your delicious filling.
Pour your sweetened condensed milk into a bowl and mix in your Kool-Aid packet. Once that’s fully dissolved, slowly fold in your Cool Whip / whipped cream until it is mixed thoroughly.
Put this mixture into your chilled pie crust and even it out with a spatula. Pop it in the fridge for at least 4 hours so the pie can set up, then you’re ready to serve!
“Oh yeah” is right. Try this once and you’ll be eating it every chance you get!
