Besides music, there’s one thing that Jimmy Buffet is known for– alcohol. A lot of his songs deal with the subject: It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere and Too Drunk To Karaoke, for example.

Out of all alcohols, people associate Buffet the most with a margarita, mostly due to his song Margaritaville, which turned into a musical and is on its way to becoming a retirement home

Needless to say, Buffet’s margarita recipe is legendary. Jimmy shared his method with Southern Living, and it’s delicious. Seriously, if you haven’t tried this yet, you need to.

Here’ how to make it.

1 oz. Margaritaville Tequila Gold

1/2 oz. Margaritaville Tequila Silver

1/2 oz. triple sec

1/2 oz. orange curaçao

1/2 oz. lime juice

2 lime wedges

1. Rim margarita glass with salt (optional).

2. Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Squeeze lime on top, then drop wedges in.

3. Cover, shake vigorously, and pour.

This summer, sit back and take a trip to Margaritaville with this yummy cocktail. It really is the perfect poolside drink.

Thanks Jimmy!
