Pom poms: some of the most popular craft supplies on the planet. You can use them to decorate just about anything, and the pop of color and infinite fuzziness they add can’t be compared.
One thing I had never thought to make out of pom poms before was a rug.
If you get a few balls of yarn in your favorite colors, make pom poms out of them and attach them to a non-slip base, you can have the perfect rug for any room in the house.
To make a pom pom, you’ll need a toilet paper roll (or multiple, depending on how big you want the pom pom to be). Make sure whatever you’re using is flattened.
Wrap your yarn around your roll(s) multiple times, then use another piece of yarn to tie the bunch together around the loop.
Once that’s tied together, snip through each end, making sure to keep the tied portion in tact. Snip as much away as you’d like, leaving some extra string to tie it on to the rug, and you’ve got a perfect pom pom!
Make a ton of these little guys until you have enough to make your rug. Start laying the pom poms out on your non-slip base, looping the extra string through the holes of the base, and tying them on the other side.
Continue doing this until you fill the entire base, and that’s it, you’re done!
