Sewing kits and pin cushions are both sewing room essentials. Keeping everything in one place saves space, keeps your essentials organized, and looks super cute as storage.

A mason jar makes the perfect solution to combine these two necessities into one. Make a pin cushion to secure to the lid, and you’ve got a ton of storage for your sewing supplies, and a perfect place to keep your sewing pins.

Making one of these is super easy. Just remove the lid and separate the lid from the ring. Then, take the lid and cut a circular piece of fabric, leave a ton of excess. glue 3 sides of the fabric down by folding it over to the other side, and once that’s done, stuff it with polyfill to your desired thickness. Fold over and glue any excess fabric, and wait for it all to dry.

Once that dries, glue down a small circular piece of felt. Once that’s dry, you’re done! Fill up the jar with your sewing supplies, stick on the lid, screw on the ring, add your pins, and voila!

This is probably one of the most useful and easy DIYs I’ve found to date. I can’t wait to make one of these for my mom for Mother’s Day– she’s gonna love it!
