Beautiful Night Sky

A beautiful quilting project can do a lot for a quilter: a sense of accomplishment, a beautiful new quilt to show off, and fine-tuning of quilting skills.

This gorgeous quilt is another project by Jenny Doan at Missouri Star Quilt Company, and it’s definitely going to become one of your absolute favorites if you make your own.

Even though this is one of the most unique quilts I’ve made, it’s also one of the easiest quilts I’ve made. If you know how to make a half square triangle, then you know how to make this quilt.

If you’d like to get started on making one for yourself, you’ll need to start by gathering your supplies. Here’s what you’ll need.

Now that you’ve gathered your supplies, you can get started on making your own Night Sky quilt. It’s a little more complicated than other quilts I’ve done in the past, but it’s so worth it, and it’s still easy.

Every single block is made from a series of small half square triangles of multiple colors. Some blocks have more of a chevron look to them, while another is more of a classic star.

When you put the blocks all together, it forms a kaleidoscope of designs: stars, diamonds, triangles and more. It’s beyond stunning and much easier than it looks.

Each of the blocks are made up of 16 small half square triangles of multiple colors. The only real differences come from how they’re arranged.

Wanna see how each of the blocks is made? Watch Jenny stitch it up in the video below, then you can get started on your own!
