As my husband and I continue to decorate our new vacation home in the coastal town of Rockport, Texas, we are always on the lookout for new DIY craft ideas to help us save money. Hubs and I also love the bonding that working on a project together provides. When I saw this crochet lantern video tutorial by DIY On The House on YouTube, I knew these lanterns would be perfect for our deck. I decided that I could handle the crochet part of the project, and I gave hubs the job of drilling holes in many of the numerous seashells we collect on the beach. The idea was to lace the shells throughout the crochet work to give us more of a beachy, nautical look.
