I love banana bread. I could eat it every day and never get tired of it. That’s why I thought this mason jar banana bread was particularly dangerous but in the best way possible.
Not only do you get the deliciousness of banana bread, but now it’s portable. I mean, what could possibly be better than that?
In addition, this is just a great recipe, with or without the jar. I know you’ll love it just as much as I do!
This comes from Allrecipes on YouTube and it’s super simple to make. Wanna make it yourself? Let’s get started.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this deliciousness, besides the mason jar of course:
- shortening

Start by preheating your oven to 325 degrees D. Grease 8 mason jars, 1 pint each. Now, let’s prep your ingredients.
Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in the eggs, bananas, and water. In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves. Add to your banana mixture.
Now, stir in your nuts and pour into the mason jars. Keep rims clean and wipe off any batter. Bake for 45 minutes.
Wipe rims of jars and put on lid and ring. Jars will seal as they cool. Listen for them to “ping” as they seal. These will keep in the refrigerator for up to a week.
