Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

It’s no secret that we have a lot of things on this planet we need to reuse and recycle. For example, it’s estimated that more than 60 million plastic bottles end up in landfills and incinerators every day.

There are a ton of ways we can combat waste: recycling, using reusable containers instead of the one-time use ones, and more. One man in Brazil found a way to take recycling to the next level.

Amarildo Silva, 23, recycles old tires into all sorts of things. He specializes in pet beds particularly, turning tires into personalized little homes for your favorite furry friend.

Old tires, much like plastic bottles, pile up all around the world. Instead of just letting them sit there, recycling them is the best way to help preserve the environment we live in.

Amarildo seems to understand that more than most, and that’s what started his affinity for bed making.

How He Does It

Silva gets ahold of old tires, paints them, embellishes a name, and adds the cushion along with any other decorations needed for the bed. What a great way to use an old tire!

In addition to these adorable pet beds, Silva makes other super cute things out of old tires. This includes planters, art displays, and more.

His talent for tire recycling allowed him to start his own business called Caominhas Pets Oficial, and he’s amassed a following on Instagram totaling almost 23,000 people.

If Silva has proved anything through his business, it’s that there are eco-friendly ways to make a living. People can save the planet with their crafts, and they can recycle while they do it.
