Making these candles are pretty easy. You’ll need to start with a pillar candle, some wax, a metal lid, and a large container full of water.

Create a double boiler with some water in a pan over the stove. Turn it on to medium heat, then stick in something you’d like to pour the wax out of, making sure it sticks out partially.

Pour a little of the hot wax on your metal lid, then stick on your pillar candle. Make sure the candle dries to the lid and you can flip it upside down and it doesn’t fall off.

Then, take your pillar candle, and hold it above a separate container full of cool water. Then, start pouring your wax, dunking the pillar candle under the water as you do so. Just make sure there’s a point of contact between the pillar candle and the hot wax before you dunk.

You’ll notice the water instantly hardening the wax and creating these water like scenes on the candle. Keep doing it until you get the result you’d like, and you’re done!

This method of candle making was very popular back in the 70’s. A lot of the 70’s aesthetic is coming back into style, so these candles are bound to look super stylish no matter where you put them.
