Wedding Invites Made Cheap & Easy
With Valentine’s Day on its way, we all know love is in the air, and with that in mind, a lot of people might be getting engaged!
If you are one of those people… congratulations! After you take in the moment and it fully sets in that you’re getting married, it’s time to start planning!
Have you set a date already? Do you have a venue? Then it’s time to make your invites!
Yep, you can make your invites from scratch, and it’s actually super easy. The best part? It’s so much cheaper than getting invites made!
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
- watercolor paper
- watercolor paint
- paintbrush
- photo editing program
- ruler
- thread (optional)
- plants (optional)
- envelopes & pen to write addresses
To make these super cute invites, first figure out what size you’d like the invites to be. Becky from TheSorryGirls made hers 5″x7″.
Now, you’ll use a photo editing program, like Photoshop, to create the text of the invite. Lay it out however you’d like, with whatever you’d like, and now it’s time for the paper.
Take your water color paper and use it to color the paper however you’d like it. Once it’s dry, you can take this paper to a printing house with your design and have it printed on!
Cut the invites however you’d like. Becky wanted an organic edge, so hers is made by placing a ruler against the invite, then tearing it. You can obviously use scissors for a cleaner edge.
Write your addresses on your envelopes, then you can take your plants and use string to tie them on. Becky uses dried eucalyptus, but something like a pressed flower would look gorgeous as well!
Once you put that in the envelope, you’re ready to send out the invites!
