With the heat turning up, beach parties are in full swing. That means it’s time to break out the beach-themed decor and get your drinks ready.

One of the cheapest bulk drinks for a party is bagged wine, but it doesn’t look the best being served out of its iconic box. So if you’re planning on having a summer party, there’s a way to serve this and make it fit the rest of your decor.

Beach buckets!

HGTV posted a video on how to conceal a wine bag with some cheap beach buckets. The end result is super festive and I think no summer party is complete without them!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A cheap beach play set (buckets, shovels, etc. You can also buy the buckets and shovels separately)
  • Exacto knife
  • Permanent marker
  • Ruler
  • Hot Glue
  • Thin Rope
  • Cardboard
  • Sand
  • Shells, beach glass, or other beachy decorations
  • Bagged wine

First, cut a hole near the bottom of the bucket for your wine spout to go. Use the ruler to measure the spout’s height and width, then use your permanent marker to mark those spots.

Draw a circle using those measurements as your perimeters, then use your exacto knife to cut out that circle. Hot glue some thin rope around the hole to cover the jagged edges and add a little more decoration.

Next, cut out a circle of cardboard roughly the size of the bucket’s opening. Cover this piece of cardboard in hot glue and dredge it in sand. Repeat this process until opaque.

Cut out a small rectangle for your shovel to stick in and glue the shovel into the hole. Glue on your other decorations like shells, beach glass, etc.

Place your wine bag in the bottom of the bucket and pull the spout out through the hole you cut earlier. Place your cardboard on top of the bucket and voila, you’re done!

This is probably the most useful decoration I’ve ever seen for a party, and it’s so easy to make. I can’t wait to make a ton of these for my birthday in July. They’ll definitely come in handy!
