If you’re a regular dollar store shopper (most DIYers are,) you know about those little “gems” in the floral aisle. Well, they aren’t just used for flower vases any more!

Dollar store gems are the most inexpensive way to give your bathroom a new and fresh look. The entire project from start to finish only costs $6 to do.

There are two different kinds of gems – one with a flat back and one that looks like a marble. Using the ones with a flat back will get you the best results.

Do you have a really boring bathroom wall? Here’s how to refresh that boring wall with a dollar store backsplash.

What you’ll need:

  • Dollar store gems
  • Grout
  • Tile adhesive
  • Sponge
  • Caulk

Use your tile adhesive to stick down the gems. Once that’s dry, put your grout down over the gems. When that dries, wet your sponge and wipe off the grout on the top of the gems.

Use the caulk to fill the gap between the backsplash and the edge of the wall. That’s it, you’re done!

Everyone will want to know how you got your beautiful backsplash, and not only do you get to say you did it yourself, but you can say you got the supplies at the dollar store!

It actually never occurred to me to use these for a backsplash, but I just love the way it looks!
