Margaritas are popular year-round, but mango margaritas remind me of summer. I love mangos, but only when they’re in season. However, in this recipe, use frozen or fresh mangoes work. I like this recipe because it’s easy to throw all of the ingredients in a blender and serve it in a margarita glass. I have a couple of margarita glasses at home when I threw a Cinco De Mayo gathering. So, this is another recipe that I can throw in when I have Mexican nights. I’m not a big frozen margarita girl, but I wouldn’t mind trying this recipe to try something new. This frozen mango margarita recipe by Cooking with Shirani makes me realize how simple it is to make any type of frozen margarita if you have a blender. Also, you can easily take this recipe and make it margaritas on the rocks.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups mango, frozen
- ½ cup tequila, silver or Blanco
- 1/3 cup Cointreau
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- ¼ cup simple syrup
- 2 cups ice
- Extra lime and Tajin to rim glass, optional
Directions:
First, add the frozen mango, tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, ice, and simple syrup to the blender. Make sure to blend the mix twice so it’s smooth and breaks down all the ice cubes.
Next, take your lime and coat it all around the rim. This will get your rim ready to dip it in Tajin for a sour and spicy taste. If you don’t want that, dip it in sugar or salt.
Overall, I think the Tajin rim is a great idea if you like sweet, salty, and sour all in one. I know this would pair well with the mango margarita because I love eating fresh mango slices with Tajin sprinkled on top. This frozen mango margarita is great to refresh on a hot summer day.
