Broken Glass

The only thing I love more than a unique quilt pattern is a free quilt pattern. It’s rare to stumble upon a pattern that fits the bill for both of these things, but I found one: this broken glass quilt.

That’s right, this pattern is completely unique and completely free. So look no further for a new project to do… you’ve found the one, and it couldn’t be any easier to do.

With one simple hack, Laura Ann Coia from SewVeryEasy makes sewing this quilt a breeze. Wanna learn how to do it? Here’s how it’s done.

How To Sew It

First, click here to download the free pattern.

All you need to do to get this quilt together is use a template to cut out the fabric pieces. Then, you sew those pieces together to form a block, and move those blocks around to form the quilt top!

Each piece of the block is its own template, which Laura demonstrates in her video.

Once the top is formed, step back and you’ll notice it truly does look like a pile of broken glass. It’s absolutely breathtaking, and it’s way easier to make than it looks, which makes it even better!

Watch Laura Ann sew up this beautiful free pattern in the video below. As soon as you see this technique in action, you’ll want to sew up your own right away!

Good luck and happy quilting!
